Let It Be Darkness…

Title : Let It Be Darkness...
Release Date : May 15, 2009
Label : Blower Records, High Roller Records
Format : CD

The creepy opener and funeral march of the titular second track set the scene perfectly before the first riff cuts in transporting you instantly back to the early 80’s and the glorious golden era of true heavy metal. I love the crunchy guitar tone, leaving the bass to the bass guitar just the way it should be. The production might be a little rough, and in places maybe a tad raw for some people but I really enjoyed these tracks and am looking forward to hearing more!

If you saw the cover and gave you a hint to a vintage one, the music is even more, Heavy Metal in its purest state and as if just out of the NWOBHM. Very into the dark and mysterious vibe of a large handful of bands that came out of the English scene.

The demo contains only 4 songs, some peculiar intros like from horror movies … wolves, vampires, witches and serial murderers are the subject … Musically tilt has great references to Maiden (as almost everyone in the NWOBHM, almost …), with a very catchy sound by the way, even in the lyrics … such as the opening track of  the demo “Grave Cross” … the chorus penetrates your mind “we are neither dead nor alive / fleshless corpses with empty eyes / Crosses made of rock / GRAVECROSS !!” … accompanied of course with good riffs, with all the heavy 80’s vibe …. “The London’s Mist” taking the issue of serial murderers, with a more marked “Killers” sound of you know who .. “Staking The Vampire” and “The Witch Curse” following that nostalgic heavy line.

As this is a demo, production is not that important, but it is not bad and obviously wanted to achieve a sound close to NWOBHM which they indeed managed to do. This is a band worth keeping an eye on.
